CHPC DOWNTIME: Ash, kingspeak, lonepeak clusters and all frisco nodes, Wednesday June 16th starting at 7:00am
Date Posted: May 5th, 2021
The downtime will include all nodes, both interactive and compute, of the ash, kingspeak
and lonepeak clusters along with all the frisco nodes.
The downtime is to update the OS to CentOS7.9. Along with this update we will also
do maintenance and updates on the Infiniband switches that support the ash and kingspeak
clusters.
We expect that the lonepeak nodes will be returned to service late morning or early afternoon, and the ash and kingspeak nodes late in the afternoon. We will send out messages as the work is completed.
There are reservations in place to drain the ash, lonepeak and kingspeak slurm batch
queues of running jobs by the start of the downtime. Any job that will not reach
its wall time limit before the start of the downtime will not be started until after
the downtime has been completed.
We expect that the lonepeak nodes will be returned to service late morning or early afternoon, and the ash and kingspeak nodes late in the afternoon. We will send out messages as the work is completed.
