DETAILS:

Does your institution have lots of researchers and educators who want to use advanced computing, but need some help learning how? You or someone at your institution can learn to be more effective at helping researchers and educators use Cyberinfrastructure (CI)!  Clarifying, since this question has come up in the
past:

You *DON'T* have to any affiliation with the Clemson-led ACI-REF effort, to participate in the 2016 Virtual Residency -- though of course anyone in that group is welcome to apply!

REGISTRATION COST: ZERO

Participant support (full or partial) will be available to some registrants but not all.

This may consist of transportation, hotel and/or meals.

The workshop will begin Sunday evening with a pizza party and a welcome/introductory session.

We'll then run all day each day for the full week, with a break Wednesday afternoon, finishing Saturday before lunch.

There'll be NO registration fee for the workshop.

We have funds to fully or partially support the transportation and/or hotel and/or meal costs for
*some* of the participants, but probably not all.

We're holding a competitive application process for seats and for participant support funds.

Workshop participants will be expected to give a brief presentation (5 minutes) on a project that they intend to carry out at their home institution after the workshop ends.

Workshop participants will also be expected to commit to participate in the following:

* a Virtual Residency conference call of one hour roughly every other week during the regular academic year, for the next two academic years;

* the Virtual Residency mailing list;

* a second summer workshop, in the subsequent year.
