Virtual Private Network (VPN)
Center for High Performance Computing users are required to use the University of Utah VPN service to access the protected environment (PE) from off-campus or map home or group directories on a computer connected to a non-University network.
Virtual Private Network (VPN) access is available through UIT. Get more information about using VPN with the campus network, including two-factor authentication requirements and instructions, here.
There is a short training video for the older cisco vpn service that covers installing and using the VPN client on various operating systems.
As of 3/17/2020 there is a new vpn portal vpn.utah.edu for the new Palo Alto GlobalProtect VPN service. This replaces the Cisco AnyConnect (vpnaccess.utah.edu) which will be discontinued December 31, 2021. Please move to the new VPN before that date.
